I don't know if anyone besides our family and a few close friends is reading this blog...but if you're out there reading, would you please pray to the Father on our behalf?
Brian was laid off today. His company has been losing business and has had to start layoffs. We know that God is not surprised by this. We believe and have faith that He has a plan for our good and for His glory. We trust that He will provide for all of our needs.
We are praying that He will help us to be faithful to seek Him and watch and listen to Him, and alert and aware as He directs our paths, so that we do not miss His direction. Would you pray that with us? We're hoping for a new opportunity that will make the most of Brian's skills and gifts.
In the meantime, we are grateful for the severance package he was given, and for the small savings we had. We weren't up to 6 months emergency savings, but we can last for 2 - 3 months, and we're really hoping it won't take that long!
And here's a testament to the goodness of God: Brian had the opportunity to point to God on the way out the door, and each conversation was well-received. May God receive all the glory!

Oh Tamara....I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers and you are so right, the plan is already written by Him, you just haven't been informed yet! I always feel like when He closes one door another will open for you, I'm sure it's just around the corner!!! hugs and love, xxoo, Dawn
Thank you, Dawn. We know the Lord is working in our midst. But we appreciate the prayers for wisdom and for us to be watchful.
Tamara, we are praying for your continued trust. Sometimes it is hard to take the circumstances around us when God is trying to make us see His plan out, but the trust and faith that you have in Him will get you all through each day of this journey and allow you to give thanks for the many blessings that you experience along the way. We are here for you. I am a little anxious to see how God is going to use Brian, his many talents, sincere heart and brilliance.
Thank you, sweet Kirstin. I am blessed by your friendship & prayers!
I came to your blog from the deeper still blog and i want you to know I am praying for you!
Just stumbled onto your blog this afternoon, I'll say a prayer for your family.
Oh, first time here. I assume this is your husband. We have had some shake-ups at my husband's company, so we're sensitive to this. I told my husband that we've always said our security is in the Lord, but when people all around are being let go, it's hard not to let that upset you. And now you're facing that. Even though we don't know each other, I feel for you and will lift you up today.
Thank you, Nicole, Liz, and 2nd Cup. We're still hanging in there, and hoping in the Lord. Your prayers mean so much, and it is nice to get to know you.
